LYNTON'S PALE ALE DAMPER
PREPARATION: 10min ~ COOK: 30min ~ READY IN: 45min
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees celsius. In a large mixing bowl knead the butter into the flour, powdered milk and salt until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Create a well in the flour mixture and then pour in the wet ingredients and work dough until it has just come together. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead the dough briefly until it becomes smooth.
- Shape into a 16cm dome and transfer to a lined baking tray. Cut 1cm deep slices into the top in your desired pattern, the cuts will stop the crust from cracking through the baking period.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until there is a hollow sound when the base it tapped.
