- Preheat oven to 200 degrees celsius. Grate the apples into a mixing bowl. Once grated squeeze the apple flesh to get the juice out and transfer into another bowl. Add sugar, cinnamon, allspice, raisins, figs, lemon zest and breadcrumbs. Combine with hands.
- Spread mixture evenly over a sheet of pastry and flatten. Roll the pastry up, trim off the ends and cut slices approximately 1.5 cm wide and place on a baking tray.
- Place tray in oven and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes until pastry is golden brown.
