8-MINUTE SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE
PREPARATION: 10min ~ COOK: 8min ~ READY IN: 18min
4 garlic cloves, crushed
1⁄4 cup onions, caramelised in 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar and 1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp soy sauce
500 g beef mince
1 packet Barilla Whole Grain Spaghetti
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 can lentils, washed and drained
1 can Ardmona Tomato Puree
1 punnet cherry tomatoes, halved
Picked fresh basil, to serve
- Over a high-heat drizzle oil in a pan, then add onions and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add soy sauce to enhance the beef flavour of the sauce, then add the mince and stir well until mince has browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat a pot of salted water to the boil and add spaghetti and cook until al dente.
- Add 1⁄2 cup of lentils and 1⁄2 tin of tomato puree and continue to stir. Add the cherry tomatoes, then the spaghetti and combine well.
- Throw roughly torn basil over the bolognese and serve.
