- In a cold, medium-sized frypan add the bacon, garlic and onion. Cook for about 5 minutes until they have softened, making sure that some of the fat has been rendered out of the bacon.
- Add the drained pinto beans to the pan with the beer and cook until the beer has evaporated by half. Add the tomatoes and jalapeños. Cook for further 5 minutes then add the brown sugar and cook until the sugar has dissolved.
- Serve this as a filling in empanadas or tacos or as a side for most meat dishes.
