1 tbsp oil
1/2 brown onion, diced
500 g minced beef
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp American mustard, (extra for bun)
2 tbsp tomato sauce, (extra for bun)
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
Pinch of salt
100 g provolone cheese, sliced finely
1 tomato, sliced
1/4 iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 red onion, sliced
4 wholegrain buns, toasted
2 dill pickles, to garnish
- Into a pan on high heat add oil, onions and cook for 5 minutes or until soft. Add onion to a bowl. Add mince, Worcestershire sauce, American mustard, tomato ketchup, breadcrumbs and pinch of salt, mix until combined. Roll mixture into a patty to same size as the bun you are using.
- Place into a pan that is on high, cook for 3 minutes on each side. After turning, place a slice of provolone cheese on top of each patty to melt.
- Spread American mustard on the base of bun and tomato sauce other bun. Add tomato, lettuce, red onion, patty to bun, place the top on. Add the pickle and skewer through the middle of bun.
BEN'S TIP: Make patties to the same size as the bun you are using.
